Project Overview
In December 2025, we completed a full heating system modernisation for a residential property in Ruislip, replacing an ageing boiler and upgrading the entire system to meet modern efficiency and safety standards.The existing boiler had served the property for several decades but was no longer performing reliably or efficiently. Our brief was to install a boiler that's modern and energy-efficient, improve overall heat distribution, and future-proof the system for years to come.
Before We Arrived
When we first inspected the property, it was clear the heating system had reached the end of its lifespan.The existing Potterton boiler, estimated to be around 40 years old, was showing significant signs of wear. Internal components were heavily deteriorated, including the heat exchanger, and the overall water quality within the system was extremely poor.
As a result:
- Heat output had steadily declined over time
- The system struggled to maintain consistent temperatures

What We Completed

We removed the outdated Potterton boiler and installed a Vaillant ecoFIT pure 425, a modern, A-rated boiler known for its reliability, compact design and excellent efficiency.Full System Powerflush
Due to years of contamination and sludge build-up, the system required a comprehensive powerflush. This restored proper water circulation, improved heat transfer, and helped protect the new boiler from premature wear.New Radiators Throughout
All radiators were replaced with new, modern units to ensure balanced heat distribution across the property. This not only improved comfort levels but also enhanced the overall appearance of the home.New Flue Installation
The original flue components were removed and replaced with a brand-new flue system, fully compliant with current safety and building regulations.External Condensate & Soakaway
A new external condensate route was installed, complete with a soakaway. This was fully re-run to meet current Building Regulations and reduce the risk of freezing during colder months.The Result
